Mothers Group

Central Coast Prems are are excited to announce that we have a new venue for our meetings.  All premmie babies and their families are welcome to attend our monthly meetings, which involve informative discussions from guest speakers, fun activities, and the chance to share with other families over morning tea.

Meetings are the first Wednesday of each month in the meeting room of the Central Coast Rescue head office, Rose St Wyong, from 10am – 12pm.  Gold coin donations are welcome to help cover the costs of meeting.  For further information please phone Kim on 0448993683.

NB – With the onset of the RSV season beginning soon, please be particularly mindful of only attending the group if you and your child/ren are well.  What may seem like a mild cold to us may mean a serious illness for our precious premmie babies so please consider them.

Calendar of Events for Semester 1, 2010

Wednesday 7th April – Join us for an Easter egg hunt and craft activities.  Children of all ages are welcome to join in.  Please RSVP to Kim on 0448993683 so that we have enough supplies on the day and your child does not miss out on the craft activities.

Wednesday 5th May – Glenn-Marie Wright from Yarran Early Intervention will be hosting an interactive play session, with discussion on how we can use toys and play to help develop our children’s skills.  This proved to be a very popular session in 2009 so don’t miss out!

Wednesday 2nd June – Judith McIntyre, paediatric physiotherapist from Gateway Child and Family Health who also services Gosford Hospital SCN, will talk with us about issues related to prematurity and will share ideas on how to encourage our premmie baby’s development.

Wednesday 7th July – Deb McTaggart, maternity and SCN social worker, will look with us at how going through a premature birth can affect you and your family.

Some things to remember:
In order to ensure the smooth running of our monthly meetings, some basic “guidelines” have been developed, and include:
